Auckland

This modern, cosmopolitan city of 1.5 million people sprawls over an area twice the size of London.

Auckland is built on 50 dormant volcanic cones between two beautiful harbours, where everyone lives within a 30-minute drive of white sand beaches, lush rainforest and a maritime playground embracing 50 islands and is the main gateway to New Zealand and our largest city.

Regular passenger ferries glide across the sparkling waters of the Waitemata Harbour and allows easy viewing of the city and environs.

Auckland is well named as the ‘City of Sails’ because of its association with round the world yacht races and the America’s Cup. Stroll through the main commercial area and enjoy leisurely shopping in intimate arcades and boutique stores and experience the fine cuisine at some of the city’s 800 restaurants.

Seek out high places like the Sky Tower and the volcanic summits of Mt Eden and One Tree Hill in order to absorb the breathtaking scenery.
